BA5 - Whakatane District Council

Whakatāne District Council is delighted to invite you to join them for a BA5 at their new Civic building.

We welcome you to celebrate the refurbished building, gain an understanding of how it will better serve democracy, and hear about the workforce values, retention and attraction principles it represents.  You’ll also hear more about Council’s recent award for Excellence in Organisation and People Development from Taituara – Local Government Professionals Aotearoa.

A cultural narrative has been woven throughout the building as a visual representation that reflects our communities and reinforces a sense of connection to the rohe/district.  Local contemporary Māori artist, Jamie Boynton (Te Whakatōhea, Ngāi Tūhoe, Te Whānau Apanui) has executed art and design elements, together with Ngā Taonga o te Rito Weavers.

It’s a great opportunity to meet and network with Elected Members and the Executive Team, staff and the business community.  Short tours of the building will also be available.
