What are the key dates to remember?

Call for nominations: Open 29 May 2018
Entrant applications open: Wednesday, 6 June 2018
Entrants 1:1 workshops: Thursday, 7 June 2018 and Thursday, 12 July 2018.  Appointments 30 minutes each.

Judges site visits: 14 and 15 August.

Judges interviews: 18-19 August.
Applications close: Tuesday, 31 July, 11.59pm.
Awards Presentation and Celebration evening: Saturday, 1 September 2018

Does our organisation have to be nominated to enter?

No, all businesses and not-for-profit organisations can enter themselves.

What happens if I nominate a business or charity?

If you nominate a business or social enterprise, we will make contact with them to inform them they have been nominated and send them the entry form to fill out.  Nominations are confidential, but you are welcome to let the organisation know you’ve made the nomination and encourage them to enter.

How many categories can our organisation enter?

Any business or organisation can enter one category in its own right, or one sector category and one specialty category.

Judges will have the discretion to consider all entries as contenders for any of the specialty categories, as well as for the  of the Horizon Business Excellence Year Award.

How does an organisation choose which category to enter?

Many businesses will be eligible for multiple categories.  You should choose the category that most suits the emphasis you wish to highlight in your entry.

Is there a cost to entering?

There is no cost to enter the Horizon Business Excellence Awards. You will however need to purchase your tickets to the Gala Dinner on Friday 1 September.

When will be known if we’ve become a finalist?

Every entry will be profiled as a finalist and announced on the night of the awards.
