Submitting Entries

Please make sure you have completed all sections as per the guideline chart and that you are entering the appropriate category for your business.

All Entries are to be submitted electronically.  

When you enter, you will fill out an initial Entry Form and submit.  You will then be sent a link to start the application process.  You can save the application as a draft before submitting your final application.  It's important that you save as you go.  It is not an auto-save.

Recommendations:

Save answers on a separate word document and cut and paste into the electronic form.

Conditions of Entry are listed below. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to these conditions.

Closing date for receipt of entries is 11.59pm, Tuesday, 31 July 2018.

 

Conditions of Entry

  • Any sole proprietor, partnership, incorporated society, Limited Liability Company, educational institution, local or central government organisation, charitable or not- for-profit organisation, with its principal place of business based and trading in the Eastern Bay or within the greater boundaries administered by the Eastern Bay Chamber of Commerce is eligible to enter the

  •  An organisation that is part of a larger national or international organisation or franchise must be able to demonstrate that it operates as a separate business unit.
  • Applicants must disclose any issues that may compromise the integrity of the awards or cause their organisation to discontinue in the next year. These issues may include legal action, law changes, possible loss of funding, or other.

  • All entrants must agree to take part in publicity that has been organised by the Eastern Bay Chamber of Commerce and as requested by the category sponsor.

  • All entrants agree to a visit by judges.

  • Entrants must provide a signed statement from their accountant confirming the financial viability and going concern status of the business. A standard pro- forma.

  • All entrants are encouraged to attend the 2018 Horizon Business Excellence Awards Evening, where the finalists and winners will be

  • Entrants are only permitted to enter one Business Excellence category (winners are automatically considered for the Supreme Winner - Business of the Year 2018).

  • Entrants may use consultants or other outside assistance to help them prepare their entry.

  • The judges may suggest that an entrant change category entered or add to their entry.

  • All entries are treated in confidence. Judges sign a confidentiality agreement that prevents them from sharing any information in relation to entrants. Following the award ceremony, entry submissions will be deleted from judges’ computers (any USB sticks can be collected from the Chamber office).

  • Judges will not judge any organisations where a conflict of interest.

  • Decisions of the judges are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
