A bit about steve

After growing up in Hamilton and obtaining degrees in both Law and Social Sciences (International Relations and History) at Waikato University, Steve moved to Whakatane and commenced practise with Hamertons in 2002.  He has been a partner of the firm since May 2005.

Even though he has lived in the Bay of Plenty for several years now he won't let go of his passionate support of the Waikato Rugby Team.  At least he supports the Chiefs and the All Blacks!

Steve is actively involved in the local community as a Trustee throughout various governance roles being a member of the Executive Board of the Eastern Bay of Plenty Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Whakatane District Council Commercial Advisory Board which advises The Whakatane District Council on economic and business development policy. Steve is currently a Trustee of the Baywide Community Law Service and a former long serving Trustee and Chairperson for Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty and the Ohope Chartered Club.  He is also a passionate organiser of the successful annual Hamertons Whakatane Charity Fishing Tournament<> which has raised funds for many worthy community organisations.
