Marcus Tietjen

I was brought up on an Orchard in Gisborne producing Grapes, Citrus and a basket of veges.  I went to Lincoln University completing a Bachelor of Commerce Specialising in Agribusiness with a double major in Rural Valuation and Economics.

Following completing University, I worked in Christchurch for a Property Consulting firm before heading overseas for my OE. I van toured around Europe for 4 months and landed in the UK working on an arable Farm for a couple of years.

My Fiancé and I returned to NZ late 2016. I started with the Bank of New Zealand in Agribusiness in Christchurch and have been working in various roles and regions around the country for BNZ in Agribusiness.

We are now well settled in the Bay of Plenty, living in Tauranga with our dog, Ziggy. I commute to Whakatane multiple days a week and work with a variety of Agribusinesses around Eastern Bay of Plenty.

The role of the Chamber is to support Local Businesses on their journey. This can be by offering training, networks and advice to support their needs. As a Board Member there is a necessity to have a passion and desire to see businesses succeed in their chosen field.

I have a genuinely strong interest in seeing clients succeed in business. I will provide an Agribusiness and Financial prospective to the Chamber.

I will provide a fresh prospective on Chamber Board matters with a focus on seeing the Chamber and most importantly its Member's prosper.
