Submitting Entries

Please make sure you have completed all sections as per the guideline chart and that you are entering the appropriate category for your business.

All Entries are to be submitted electronically, either via direct email in a ZIP file, or via USB stick, so that the Chamber Office can forward all information electronically to the University of Waikato Judging Panel.

How to do this electronically:

  • Answer each section on a separate word document.
  • Save each section inside a separate folder on your computer: ie:

Business Awards à Section 1 à your written document and supporting documentation.

Business Awards à Section 2 à your written document and supporting documentation

…and so on.

Conditions of Entry are listed below. By submitting an entry, you are agreeing to these conditions.

Conditions of Entry

  • Any sole proprietor, partnership, incorporated society, Limited Liability Company, educational institution, local or central government organisation, charitable or not- for-profit organisation, with its principal place of business based and trading in the Eastern Bay or within the greater boundaries administered by the Eastern Bay Chamber of Commerce is eligible to enter the

 

  • An organisation that is part of a larger national or international organisation or franchise must be able to demonstrate that it operates as a separate business unit.

  • Applicants must disclose any issues that may compromise the integrity of the awards or cause their organisation to discontinue in the next year. These issues may include legal action, law changes, possible loss of funding, or other

  • All entrants must agree to take part in publicity that has been organised by the Eastern Bay Chamber of Commerce and as requested by the category sponsor.

  • Entrants must provide a signed statement from their accountant confirming the financial viability and going concern status of the business. A standard pro- forma is on page 13 as an

  • All entrants are encouraged to attend the 2016 Horizon Business Excellence Awards Evening, where the finalists and winners will be

  • Entrants are only permitted to enter one Business Excellence category (finalists are automatically considered for the Supreme Winner - Business of the Year 2016).

  • All entries are treated in confidence. Judges sign a confidentiality agreement that prevents them from sharing any information in relation to entrants. Following the award ceremony, entry submissions will be deleted from judges’ computers (any USB sticks can be collected from the Chamber office).

  • Judges will not judge any organisations where a conflict of interest

  • Decisions of the judges are final and no correspondence will be entered
