Meet Patrick O'Sullivan

I am Whakatane ‘born and bred’ and after a period of many years living in Auckland and Sydney I returned to the Eastern Bay of Plenty in late 2009. I am the General Manager of White Island Tours Ltd which is the Coastal Bay of Plenty’s largest tourism business and incorporates tours to White Island and Moutohora, White Island Rendezvous motel and White Island Café. My connection with the Eastern Bay Chamber began when I was a co-founder of the Zest Young Professionals Group and I have been a board member since 2012. I was privileged to be awarded the Emerging Young Leader of the Year award at the Horizon Business Excellence Awards in 2016. My other community interests include being a member of the Sunshine and a Plate Food Festival committee which supports Hospice EBOP, and a board member of the Halo Whakatane environmental group.

What skills or qualities will you bring to the Chamber Board , that will help achieve your vision of success for the Chamber?

I am passionate about seeing the Eastern Bay of Plenty community develop and grow, and believe that the Chamber of Commerce has an important role to play in cultivating an environment which allows businesses to thrive. My particular area of interest is in the growth of tourism, for which I believe there is further potential for our region. As General Manager for White Island Tours, I am confident I possess the necessary skills and experience to help guide the Chamber forward in this endeavour. My strong ties to the community only serves to strengthen this position.
